Open WOC 2018

WELCOME TO THE OPEN WORLD OTHELLO CHAMPIONSHIP 2018

Full 2-day event will be held in cooperation with board games festival Deskohraní.

Deskohraní is a festival full of presentations, tournaments and free playing spaces, in a wonderful historical palace just few meters from the Charles bridge. There are around 80 different gaming events you can take part of, ranging from high level tournaments, world and national championships until the open tournaments for beginners. Also we have a space specialized in children games.

Date: 13. - 14.10.2018

Place: Tyršův dům, Újezd 40, Praha 1, Czech Republic

Entry fee: 180 CZK / day (approx. €7) includes all Othello tournaments and all open festival facilities for the day, payable cash in CZK only, at the event venue. WOC Youth participants enter for free.

SUNDAY 14.10.2018

9:00 - 13:00	Open WOC in XOT (blitz)	2x5min Swiss + Semifinal + Final, XOT version = first 8 moves chosen at random	Players: 2/36
14:00 - 17:00	Open "Family" pairs tournament	2x10min Swiss, 2-player teams, players alternate in moves, no chatting, "Family" means any two players closely related, general public welcome	Teams: 0/18

Learn Othello all day
Othello special section (strategy, special boards, puzzles) all day
Disc flipping practice all day
Exercise with Othello (large garden board) Sat+Sun 14-17
People vs. Master match Sat 19-20 + Sun 13-16
Surprise event Sun 10-11:30
and more, with various non-cash prizes, such as board games

We will gladly welcome all Othello players to help promoting the game and playing against the public enthusiasts during the Open WOC. The daily entry fee for helpers is 0 CZK = free, including tournaments.
